🔥 Legacy Cup Weekend Brings the Heat Before the Final Showdown
This past weekend’s Legacy Cup was more than just football—it was about honoring those who paved the way, building bonds across generations, and leaving everything on the field. With Championship Saturday right around the corner, teams battled with pride, purpose, and passion.
Let’s break it down division by division.
10U Division – Blue Raiders Make a Championship Stop
The Legacy Cup game between the Hawkeyes and Blue Raiders lived up to every bit of the hype.
The Hawkeyes struck first behind an electric performance from Madden Meany, who made highlight-reel catches and explosive plays downfield that had the crowd on their feet. His vision, hands, and ability to create space were nothing short of elite.

But as the game wore on, a few costly turnovers turned the tide. In a game that came down to the final play, it was the 10U Blue Raiders' defense that stood tall—making a goal-line stop to seal the Legacy Cup victory.
While the Hawkeyes fell just short, Madden Meany’s all-around effort couldn’t be ignored. He earns the well-deserved honor of 10U Player of the Week.
🏈 12U Division – Hawkeyes Soar to Legacy Glory
The 12U Hawkeyes put the division on notice with a commanding undefeated weekend, claiming the Legacy Cup with swagger and dominance.

Quarterback Josh Macintosh was in complete control—spreading the ball, leading with confidence, and proving why he’s quickly climbing into the MVP conversation. With Cub Scheirman sidelined for the Blue Raiders, the MVP race has started to shift—and Macintosh has thrown his name into the hat in bold ink.
Jackson Allen was a difference-maker on both sides of the ball, making clutch catches and bringing physicality on defense. The Buckeyes battled, but couldn’t contain the high-octane attack from the Hawkeyes.
The Blue Raiders, still looking to find their rhythm, hope to welcome back Scheirman this weekend in time for a final push.

15U Division – Wolverines Flip the Script
It was a season-defining weekend for the Wolverines, who captured the 15U Legacy Cup and silenced the doubters with two gritty wins.

The previously undefeated Trojans stumbled for the first time this spring, going 0-3 and losing momentum heading into Championship Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Wolverines came alive. Quarterback Oren Cool found his rhythm, connecting with Hunter Scheirmanand Justus Miller on key touchdown plays. But it was the defense that sealed the deal—Kingston Bailey’s goal-line interception and Jexen Drake’s clutch plays over the last two weeks were nothing short of game-changing.
The Wolverines, who started slow, now look like a real threat heading into the final weekend.

High School Division – All Eyes on Championship Sunday
The high school division took a break this past weekend as players prepared for spring camps across Calgary. But don’t get it twisted—they’ll be back, locked in, and ready to leave it all on the turf this Championship Saturday at Glenmore Athletic Park.
With a trophy on the line and bragging rights for the summer, expect fireworks when these teams return.
